The City of Harahan's Regulatory Department has been operating in a new system called MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) for all regulatory matters, including Code Enforcement. Changes have been made to the process of reporting Code Violations and general concerns via the City's website.

If you are looking to report a concern or Code Violation, visit our website at harahanla.gov and you will see these options (pictured above). You will find "Citizen Reporting" and once you hover over this selection with your cursor, will be met with two options "Report a Violation" and "Citizen Concern" (pictured below).

We have been using the "Citizen Concern" form in the past, and will continue to operate via that form in the future as well. However, reporting a Code Violation has been changed, so we would like to use this post for informational purposes regarding both forms that can be filled and submitted to the City.
When reporting to the City about general concerns in Harahan, please use the "Citizen Concern" form and fill out the requested information such as Name, Phone number, Email, and a message explaining the concern you wish to support.
When you select "Report a Violation" you will be brought to Harahan's portal on mgoconnect.org, which is used for all of the City's regulatory matters. On the left side of Harahan's Portal, you will see "Submit A Complaint" which should be used for Code Violation reporting. Once you have selected "Submit A Complaint" you will be met with a screen requesting an email address and password for your MGO account. These accounts are free to create and are useful for keeping up with the progress of the violation, because your violation is attached to your account after submission.
Alternatively there is a "Proceed Anonymously" option if you, the complainant, wish to remain anonymous for your code violation report. We do request that you provide all available information, as it helps the Code Enforcement Department in their investigation and follow-up on the Violation.

We hope that with the use of the new system, all Citizen Concerns and Code Violations are heard by the City, acted upon appropriately, and handled in a timely manner.
