Growing Together in 70123: Harahan Celebrates a New Chapter for John Curtis Christian School
Mayor Tim Baudier and Councilman Eric Chatelain were pleased to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for an exciting new addition to the John Curtis Christian School campus. This project represents an important investment in the school’s future, creating an enhanced environment for students and staff while contributing to the continued growth and beautification of the 70123 community.
The new facility will provide meaningful benefits to the John Curtis community while honoring the history of the property and the enduring legacy of the Curtis family. Projects like this reflect the value of investing in educational spaces that support future generations and strengthen the communities they call home.
The event brought together local and state officials, project construction professionals, school representatives, students, and members of the Curtis family to celebrate this milestone. Among those in attendance were State Representative John Ilg, Jefferson Parish Councilman Scott Walker, Jefferson Parish Councilman Deano Bonano, and Jefferson Parish Councilman Hans Liljeberg.
For Councilman Eric Chatelain, the occasion held special significance as a John Curtis alumnus. Mayor Tim Baudier, a longtime Jefferson Parish resident whose three children also graduated from John Curtis, welcomed the opportunity to show his support for one of Harahan’s neighboring educational institutions. As active members of the 70123 community, the Mayor and Councilman Chatelain recognize the importance of celebrating the milestones and continued success of the schools that help shape the surrounding community.
The City of Harahan extends its sincere appreciation to John Curtis Christian School for the invitation to participate in this special occasion. We are proud to celebrate the continued investment in our surrounding community and look forward to seeing this new addition take shape.
As our neighboring institutions continue to grow and thrive, these milestones serve as a reminder of the importance of collaboration, community pride, and a shared commitment to building a bright future for the 70123 area.
